CG Hoops is a basketball player development company focused on helping serious players become better, more complete basketball players. Our training goes beyond running players through drills. We develop the skills, decision-making, movement, athleticism, and understanding players need to perform when the game is live. If it doesn’t translate, it doesn’t matter.
We work with players at a wide range of levels — from developing youth players to high school, college, professional, and nationally ranked athletes. Our standard memberships are designed for players in 6th grade and above. We also offer select training opportunities for younger players.
No. You don't have to already be elite to train at CG Hoops. You do need to be willing to learn, compete, and work. We train players at different stages of development and place athletes in environments appropriate for their current skill level.
Potentially. Our training is designed around development, but the right environment depends on the player's age, experience, and current ability. If you're unsure where your player belongs, contact us and our team can help recommend the best starting point.
The easiest way to get started is to fill out a trial session form, purchase the trial session credits, and schedule your first session through the app. From there, our team can help determine which CG Hoops training option makes the most sense for the athlete.
We don't measure a successful workout by how many drills a player completed or how tired they are when they leave. We care about whether the training actually transfers to the game. Our approach combines skill development, decision-making, game reads, movement, competition, and live application. Players learn not only what to do, but when, why, and how to use it against a defender.

Sessions vary based on the focus of the day, but players can expect a combination of skill development, game-specific movement, decision-making, competitive situations, and live application. We intentionally progress from teaching and developing a skill into environments where athletes have to recognize opportunities and execute against defenders.
Yes. It's a major part of our training. Basketball isn't played against cones. Players have to recognize advantages, read defenders, make decisions, and execute skills at game speed. We incorporate decision-making and game reads throughout our training so players learn how to solve problems on the court instead of simply memorizing moves.
Yes. We offer dedicated shooting sessions designed to help players improve shooting mechanics, footwork, shot preparation, consistency, range, and the ability to make contested shots to prepare for game situations.
Yes. Private and small-group training options are available for athletes who want a more individualized training environment. Private training availability and pricing depend on the trainer. For players serious about improving, consistency matters more than occasional high-volume training. Most athletes benefit from multiple development exposures throughout the week, balanced appropriately with practices, games, strength training, and recovery. Our staff can help recommend the right training frequency based on the player's age, schedule, goals, and current workload.
There is a minimum commitment of 3 months. Once completed you may cancel the membership at any time or continue on your current billing cycle.
If you miss or cancel a private training session within 24 hours. The credit for that session will be charged. For our group training you may cancel up until the session starts, once that session starts you will not be able to have your credit refunded.
Membership credits roll over as long as you maintain an "ACTIVE" membership. Cancelling or pausing a membership will result in losing all accrued credits.

CG Hoops members schedule eligible training sessions through our online scheduling system. Available sessions are based on the athlete's membership, age/grade, and appropriate training group.
We understand that school and club basketball schedules change throughout the year. Our schedule is designed to provide multiple training opportunities, and we adjust programming throughout different parts of the basketball calendar when appropriate. Although the most popular option for increased flexibility is our Private Training options. This is a big reason we have training available 6 days per week.
We consider both. Age and grade provide an initial framework, but players develop at different rates. When appropriate, athletes may be grouped based on skill level, physical development, experience, and what training environment will challenge them appropriately.
Yes. Players aren't permanently locked into one level. Our coaches continually evaluate athletes and may recommend moving a player when we believe a different environment will better challenge their development.
There isn't an honest one-size-fits-all answer. Development depends on the athlete's starting point, training frequency, effort, ability to apply coaching, playing environment, physical development, and work outside of CG Hoops. Our job is to provide a high-level development environment and a clear pathway forward. The athlete still has to do the work.
Not just for the sake of changing it. We evaluate what is limiting the player's shooting ability and make adjustments when those changes can improve consistency, efficiency, range, speed, or adaptability. The goal isn't to make every player's shot look identical. The goal is to build a repeatable shot that works.
Our job is to make players better basketball players. We can help athletes prepare for tryouts and improve the skills, decision-making, physical tools, and confidence necessary to compete, but roster decisions ultimately belong to each team's coaching staff.
Yes. We have multiple parents that enjoy the training environment and seeing how their child is improving. We're on the same team and want to make sure the parents are aware of the process we take to ensure a positive training environment. All we ask is that parents stay off the court and let the kids learn, fail, and get better as if the parents weren't there. Trust us and your child won't just get better, they will be begging to come back.
Players should arrive ready to train with proper basketball shoes, athletic clothing, and water.
It is recommended to show up 10-15 minutes before training to do any sort of stretching and activation work so they are ready to attack the next workout. If there is a goal available we encourage clients to get some shots up and warm-up prior to our session.
Players and parents should communicate injuries or physical limitations with our staff before training. We can modify certain activities when appropriate, but CG Hoops does not replace medical evaluation, physical therapy, or clearance from a qualified healthcare professional.

Many of our events have limited capacity and have sold out every single time we do a camp or clinic. We intentionally limit registration for certain programs so we can maintain the quality of the training environment.
CG Hoops operates out of our basketball training facility in Chesterfield, Missouri. Our approximately 17,000-square-foot facility includes two full basketball courts, multiple baskets, a weight room, turf space, and additional player-development amenities.
